3 Fruits That Can Naturally Whiten Your Teeth

Health & Medical Blog

Without clean and white teeth, it is not easy to smile or laugh when everyone else around you is laughing. But the importance of white teeth goes beyond cracking jokes and laughing with your buddies; it is also important for self-esteem. White and clean teeth create a feel-good factor about oneself. Before you visit your dentist for a tooth whitening procedure, try the following methods first.

1. Cleanse Your Teeth With Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a well-known bleaching agent and when it comes to teeth whitening, it is no different. Using a soft cloth, rub the juice on your teeth. You can add salt to the lemon juice to improve the chances of the juice removing plaque (a thick, sticky deposit on the teeth). When you are done, rinse your mouth with water to prevent the teeth from being damaged with the acid contained in the lemon juice.

2. Cleanse Your Teeth With Banana Peel

Ripe bananas are rich in potassium, manganese and magnesium. These three elements have the ability to whiten your teeth by removing the stains that cause discoloration.

Get a ripe banana and peel it. A banana is considered ripe if it has no traces of green color on its skin. However, a banana that has few spots of green at its ends can still do the job. What you need is the inner surface of the banana peel. Using a knife, cut a small square of the peel and rub the peel along your teeth for two minutes. As your rub, the vital elements are absorbed into your teeth. When you are done, brush and rinse your teeth.  Due to the fact that bananas contain plenty of sugar, use this treatment once a week.

3. Cleanse Your Teeth With Strawberries

According to dentist Adina Carrel, strawberries can be a powerful tooth-cleanser when they are mixed with baking soda. The magic behind the cleanser is the malic acid that is found in strawberries; the acid gets rid of color discoloration and is also effective in removing stains from certain drinks like wine, dark sodas and coffee.

Crush your strawberry in a small container and add ½ a teaspoon of baking soda; mix the two until you are convinced that they have blended perfectly. Using a small toothbrush, apply some of the mixture onto your teeth spreading it nicely. Leave it there for some time, say five minutes. Then brush your teeth to remove the mixture from the teeth. Also rinse your mouth to remove seeds of strawberry that may stick between the teeth. For best results, repeat this treatment once in a week.

Picture Of Health: A Blog About Medical Matters

Hey there. My name is Wade, and I have been a first aid volunteer for the past twenty years. Most weekends you will find me at football games, rodeos, agricultural shows or fun runs. I really love being able to help at these events and provide the necessary level of assistance. As a first responder, my medical role is very limited, but, many injured people do contact me to give thanks after they recover. This has further sparked my interest in health and medicine. I love watching medical shows and reading basic texts to gain a greater understanding of particular medical problems. I'm sure there are others like me who take an amateur interest in health and medical matters. I started this blog to share intriguing information I come across. I hope you find my topics fascinating and instructive. Thank you for dropping by.
